Metal
Titanium (Ti)
License acquisition
2020
Total area
10 km²
Title
License held by Greenhills AS (100% subsidiary of SEG), no third-party royalties
Location
The property is situated in the Engebofjellet mining district of Sunnfjord province in south-west Norway, with the Fureviknipa license being 7 km away from the nearest town, Forde.
History
Fureviknipa became an area of significant interest due to its titanium ore mineralization bound to eclogite rocks. This mineralization was initially discovered in the 1980s by NGU geologists.
TiO₂
Based on the rock sampling data, the geologic resource for the specified property showed mineralization with titanium in the range of 0.32-6.97% TiO₂. The average content was determined to be 3.26% TiO₂.
Infrastructure
Fureviknipa has proper road accessibility. The urban center, Forde, is situated merely 7 km away. Fureviknipa exploration license is favorably located in Engebofjelld, important titanium-rich mining district with access to infrastructure & sea. Fureviknipa is adjacent to the Engebo project, one the world’s highest-grade rutile deposits in the pre-production phase, with 133 Mt of M&I Resource and 57 Mt in P&P Reserves.
Next steps
Initial drill campaign.
Notable titanium projects in Scandinavia
Fureviknipa, Engebo, Skeipstad, Tellness (Norway), Ruoutevare (Sweden), Otanmaki, Vuorokas, Koivu (Finland).
Exploration works done
A total of approximately 200 drill-cutting samples were collected. Boreholes reached depths of 20-25 cm. Additionally, 11 rock samples, each weighing up to 2.5 kg, were retrieved from the Fureviknipa Exploration License zone. All samples underwent thorough geological description and were labeled and pinpointed using GPS.
