Finlifjellet and Njeretjakke: Summer Exploration Focused on Unlocking Potential
SEG continues to successfully implement its strategic plan to expand and strengthen its portfolio of exploration and mining licenses across Norway and Sweden. Following the acquisition of two promising licenses – Finlifjellet 2 and Njeretjakke – we are now entering a key phase: evaluating the geological potential of both sites and preparing the groundwork for their future development.
The 2025 summer field season is crucial for both projects, as we aim to gather essential data that will bring us closer to long-term goals and clear investment decisions.
Finlifjellet 2: Gold Potential and Drill Preparation
The Finlifjellet 2 site is located in a geologically favorable area, with preliminary chemical analyses indicating the presence of gold-bearing structures, especially in the northern part of the license. Previous exploration on the neighboring Finlifjellet 1 license revealed exceptionally high gold grades – up to 180 g/t Au in selected samples.
Our 2025 fieldwork plan includes:
- detailed geological mapping and sampling,
- laboratory analyses to confirm the presence of gold,
- development of a geological model of the site,
- and preparations for a drilling program scheduled for 2026.
The goal is to verify the deposit’s true potential, support resource estimation and certification, and ultimately prepare the project for commercial valuation or sale.
Njeretjakke: Fast-Track License and Strategic Critical Metals
The Njeretjakke license in Sweden marks a major success for our administrative team, with the permit secured in record time. The area holds strong potential for critical raw materials, including:
- cobalt, nickel, chromium, and PGEs, all of which are designated by the EU as strategic,
- hosted in Ordovician-age ultramafic intrusions within the Caledonian orogen.
According to data from the SGU, the region includes a known mineral resource estimated at 38.3 million tonnes, with average grades of:
- 0.28% Ni (nickel),
- 0.43% Cr (chromium),
- 0.015% Co (cobalt).
Exploration efforts in 2025 will focus on:
- confirming the geological development of the Njeretjakke resource,
- refining the extent of mineralization in the Rotiken area,
- mapping the broader region in search of additional occurrences.
The summer 2025 season represents a critical milestone for both projects. The outcomes of these exploration campaigns will strengthen SEG’s regional presence and advance the projects toward the next stages of development with significant investment potential.
