Greenland news
19.5.2020 In relation to Subarctic Exploration Group’s planned exploration activities in 2020:
The Government of Greenland has adjusted the exploration obligations for 2020 to zero due to the challenges caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. This initiative and the possible challenges to raise capital for 2021 have resulted in proposals from licensees to stop the clock for licences, and thereby taking out 2020 as a Licence year. Proposals of taking out 2020 are still being discussed.
The authorities have now extended the emergency preparedness until 31st August 2020. Therefore it is possible to fly from Denmark to Greenland from the 1st of June on three weekly flights. From June 1st, there will be passenger flights from Denmark to Greenland three times a week – Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. As the opening will be gradual, there will be limited seats available.
